Myeisha Essex is a digital strategist, editor and writer for some of the leading entertainment brands. As a social media marketer Myeisha specializes in increasing website traffic and sales, audience engagement, and growing social media followers. Myeisha currently serves as the Senior Editor at Entertainment Tonight.
Previously, she managed the editorial for The Shade Room, which has more than 14 million followers on Instagram alone. As Managing Editor, she assisted the company in winning two BET awards, including a BET Social Award and BET Hip Hop Award for Best Hip Hop Online Site/App. Prior to that role, Myeisha was the Senior Digital Writer and Producer for the Emmy-award winning, “The Real” Daytime Talk Show. At the end of her tenure, the show ranked second among all syndicated shows for social engagement.
Throughout her 10-year career, Myeisha’s work has been featured in ESSENCE, HelloBeautiful.com, Malibu Magazine, and even one of the original Black entertainment publications, SISTER 2 SISTER Magazine. She has also contributed to “The Wendy Williams Show” and “The Steve Harvey Morning Show.”
In addition, she counsels other brands on how to improve their digital strategy.
Myeisha is a graduate of Bennett College and Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism.
